APPLICATION:

Shower valves, in plumbing systems for buildings.

INTENT:

To limit the probability that an inappropriate shower valve type or nonconformance of valves to the appropriate standard will lead to an inability to control water temperature, which could lead to:
  • exposure to excessively high water temperatures at shower heads, or
  • unexpected variations in water temperature, due to the use of other fixtures.
This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
