Objective:

APPLICATION:
Spatial separation, from other structures on the same
property, of tents and air-supported structures used as buildings described in Sentence
1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A, except as provided in Sentences 3.1.6.3.(3) and (4), which apply when there is no public occupancy and a limited ground area.
This also applies when tents and air-supported structures are used as buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence
1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9], as stated in Sentence
9.10.1.2.(1).
INTENT:
To exempt such structures from the application of Subsection
3.2.3. if certain conditions are met to provide an acceptable
level of protection. This is to limit the probability that:
- a fire in a tent or air-supported structure will spread into another building on the same property, which could lead to harm to persons in the building, and
- a fire in a building will spread into a tent or air-supported structure, which could lead to harm to persons in the tent or air-supported structure.

1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9], as stated in Sentence
9.10.1.2.(1).
INTENT:
To exempt such structures from the application of Subsection
3.2.3. if certain conditions are met to provide an acceptable
level of protection. This is to limit the probability that insufficient space
for egress will lead to excessive delays in evacuation, which could lead to
harm to persons.
