ATTRIBUTION:

Most technical provisions of the BC Fire Code describe how the code’s objectives and functional statements are achieved. However, some provisions, like this one, do not relate directly to a code objective. The following analysis is provided to assist in understanding of the provision.

 

APPLICATION:

Any part of a roof that is pitched at an angle of 60° or more to the horizontal and is adjacent to a space intended for occupancy within a building, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

INTENT:

To state the conditions under which roof assemblies must be considered as exterior walls for the purposes of the application of Section 3.2.
