to the fire department, in buildings that require a signal connection to the fire department, as stated in Sentences 3.2.4.7.(1) to (3).
This also applies to the transmission of automatic
sprinkler systems supervisory signals, as required in Sentence
3.2.4.9.(3).
INTENT:
To limit the probability that fire alarm signals will not
be properly transmitted to the fire department in a fire situation, which
could lead to emergency responders not being promptly notified of a fire situation,
which could lead to delays in carrying out fire emergency response operations,
which could lead to:
- delays in evacuation or moving to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons, and
- the spread of fire, which could lead to harm to persons.
