6.2.2.3.(1),
where such storage garages adjoin buildings of other occupancy, or where adjacent portions of the same building have a different occupancy, in buildings described in Sentence
1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A
This also applies to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence
1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9], with respect to the ventilation of storage garages for more than 4 motor vehicles in residential occupancies, as stated in Sentence
9.32.1.1.(3).
INTENT:
To limit the probability that a higher pressure in storage
garages than in adjoining buildings will lead to the flow of contaminants
into other occupied parts of the floor area or to adjacent buildings having
a different occupancy, which could lead to harm to persons.
