To retard the effects of fire on facilities for notification, suppression and emergency response.

Objective:

OS1.2, OS1.5

APPLICATION:

This sentence applies to all buildings regulated by Article 3.2.6.1.

INTENT:

The intent of this sentence is to recognize the need for protection of all electrical conductors which supply life safety equipment and systems required to be provided with emergency power so the equipment can operate for a period of not less than one hour.
