APPLICATION:

This sentence applies to all buildings regulated by the provisions of Part 5.

INTENT:

The intent of this sentence is to provide a backup means of drainage for roofs or balconies enclosed by parapet walls, in order to avoid water backing up into moisture sensitive assemblies and to prevent structural damage from ponding.
