ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION NOTICE

TAKE NOTICE THAT Altech Custom Coaters Ltd. (“Altech”) of 5800 Beresford Street, Burnaby, BC V5J 1J1 applies to the Metro Vancouver Regional District (“Metro Vancouver”) pursuant to the Greater Vancouver Regional District Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082, 2008 for a Permit.

1. The purpose of this application is to request authorization to discharge air contaminants from a metal finishing facility located at 5800 Beresford Street, Burnaby, BC V5J 1J1.

Altech is requesting authorization to discharge air contaminants from this existing facility. The facility engages in powder paint coating of architectural and decorative finishes for metal products. Items such as aluminum or steel architectural railings are brought in to the facility for painting and corrosion protection. Items first go through a washing step and then a drying furnace/oven eliminates excess moisture. A clear coat and/or primer is then applied in a paint booth. This is followed by a powder coat in an electrostatic powder paint booth. Once completed, the items are transported by conveyor to an enclosed furnace/oven for baking. Baking and drying are achieved by furnaces/ovens that use natural gas for fuel.

2. The legal description of the land or premises where the plant, operation or source and treatment works are or will be located is Lot A, Block 23, Parcel K, Lot 39, District Lot 97, Group 1, New Westminster District, Plan 26664.

3. A summary of the emission characteristics for the entire facility is as follows:

a. Combustion processes: Primary fuel – Natural Gas; Secondary fuel – N/A;

b. Maximum Opacity: 5 Percent;

c. Maximum total number of sources: 6

d. Maximum duration of discharge of air contaminants: 3120 hours/year

e. Authorization term requested: 5 years

4. The mass of material to be discharged, emitted or stored (per specific time period) is as follows:

This Notice is published pursuant to the Environmental Management Act, the Public Notification Regulation, and the Greater Vancouver Regional District Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082, 2008. A person who may be adversely affected by the granting or amending of the permit described in this notice may, within 30 days of its publication, notify Metro Vancouver’s District Director in writing stating how that person is affected. When making a decision on the permit or approval application, the District Director will consider the application, comments submitted and any responses provided by the applicant.

TAKE NOTICE THAT Sunco Foods Inc. of 9208 North Fraser Crescent, Burnaby, BC V5J 0E3 applies to the Metro Vancouver Regional District (“Metro Vancouver”) pursuant to the Greater Vancouver Regional District Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082, 2008 for a Permit.

1. The purpose of this application is to request authorization to discharge air contaminants from an existing nut roasting facility located at 9208 North Fraser Crescent, Burnaby, BC V5J 0E3.

Sunco Foods Inc. (“Sunco”) is a food processing operation that manufactures nut butter. Sunco is applying for authorization to discharge air contaminants from 6 point sources into the atmosphere: 1 natural gas fired peanut roaster, 1 electric powered fan roasted peanut cooler, 1 natural gas fired almond roaster with 2 stacks, 1 electric powered fan roasted almond cooling unit, and a peanut skin dust collector.

3. A summary of the emission characteristics for the entire facility is as follows:

b. Maximum Opacity: 10 Percent;

c. Maximum total number of sources: 6

d. Maximum duration of discharge of air contaminants: 8760 hours/year

e. Authorization term requested: 15 years
