PUBLIC VIEWING

Houston Forest Products has prepared a major amendment to their approved 2000 Forest Development Plan for Forest Licence A16827 (major amendment HFP2005-1). The amendment identifies 24 blocks and their associated road development to access mountain pine beetle infestations and susceptible timber within the Buck, Nadina and Tahtsa Landscape Units within the Morice Timber Supply Area.

Approval of this amendment will provide the basis for subsequent cutting and road permit applications.

As per section 27 of the Operational and Site Planning Regulation, this amendment will be available for viewing at the following locations from March 30 to May 30, 2005, during the office hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

Houston Forest Products, Houston, BC and Ministry of Forests, Nadina Forest District, Burns Lake, BC.

To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by May 30, 2005.

2001 – 2005 Forest Development Plan, Boundary Timber Supply Area, Amendment 58.

Take notice that BC Timber Sales, Kootenay Business Area, has prepared a major amendment to its approved 2001 – 2005 Forest Development Plan within the Arrow Boundary Forest District. This major amendment shows proposed road construction and forest harvesting in the areas listed below:

Geographic location, Pass Creek; nearest community, Grand Forks; consumptive watersheds, Pass Creek; and

Geographic location, Deer-Stage Creeks; nearest community, Westbridge; consumptive watersheds, not applicable.

This proposed amendment will be available for review and comment from Friday, April 8 to Saturday, May 7, 2005. Please note that a 30-day review and comment period has been requested and approved for this amendment to expedite the removal of mountain pine beetle and Douglas fir beetle infested timber. A copy of the proposed amendment will be available for review at the followings locations:
