HEALTH AUTHORITIES AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2), 2001

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1 Section 16.1 of the Health Authorities Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 180, is repealed.

Consequential Amendment

Expropriation Act

2 Section 2 (5) of the Expropriation Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 125, is repealed.

Explanatory Notes

SECTION 1: [Health Authorities Act, repeals section 16.1] removes a provision that permitted the minister to direct the amalgamation of a designated corporation and a regional health board or a community health council.

Consequential Amendment

Expropriation Act

SECTION 2: [Expropriation Act, repeals section 2 (5)] is consequential to the repeal of section 16.1 of the Health Authorities Act. It removes from the Expropriation Act the exemption for a mandatory amalgamation under section 16.1 of the Health Authorities Act.
