WHEREAS Clayton Leslie Aylard, in trust (hereinafter referred to as "Aylard"), is the registered owner of all coal, petroleum, and natural gas, and all strata containing coal or petroleum, in or under Lots 1024 and 1025, the South Half of Lot 1026, Lots 1027, 1028, 1029, 1034, 1035, 1042, 1043, 1047, and 1049, Peace River District, all of which are situated in the immediate vicinity of the Peace River power development now being undertaken by British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority, which means the Authority constituted as such by the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority Act:
AND WHEREAS it is in the public interest that there be no interference with the said power development:
AND WHEREAS Aylard cannot explore for and develop certain portions of the said coal, petroleum, and natural gas (hereinafter referred to as the "interfering portions") without interference with the said power development:
AND WHEREAS Aylard is willing to convey the interfering portions to British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority in consideration of the payment by the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority of the sum of sixty-three thousand dollars ($63,000) and a grant by the Crown of
(a) all petroleum and natural gas; and
(b) all coal and all strata containing coal or petroleum
in or under the North-west Quarter of Lot 1039, the South Half of Lot 1050, the West Half of Lot 1054, Lot 1055, and all that portion or tract of land situated within the Peace River District and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Lot 1039; thence due north a distance of 40 chains; thence due east a distance of 40 chains; thence due south to a point on the northerly boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1039; thence westerly along the said northerly boundary to the point of commencement, and containing 160 acres, more or less:
NOW, THEREFORE, HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:—
1 This Act may be cited as the Peace River Coal, Petroleum, and Natural Gas Rights Exchange Act.

2 For the purpose of facilitating the Peace River power development and subject to the execution and delivery of a conveyance whereby Aylard conveys the interfering portions to British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority, and notwithstanding anything in any other Act contained, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council shall be empowered to authorize the issuance of a Crown grant or Crown grants to Aylard, containing such restrictions and limitations as may be deemed to be in the public interest, of all coal, petroleum, and natural gas, and all strata containing coal or petroleum, in or under the North-west Quarter of Lot 1039, the South Half of Lot 1050, the West Half of Lot 1054, Lot 1055, and all that portion or tract of land situated within the Peace River District and more particularly described as follows: "Commencing at the north-west corner of Lot 1039; thence due north a distance of 40 chains; thence due east a distance of 40 chains; thence due south to a point on the northerly boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1039; thence westerly along the said northerly boundary to the point of commencement, and containing 160 acres, more or less," the Crown grant or Crown grants to be in the form herein with such variations as the circumstances may require and with such other restrictions and limitations as may be deemed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council to be in the public interest as aforementioned.

Know ye that We do by these presents, for us, our heirs and successors, in consideration of the sum of __________________ to us paid, give and grant unto _______________________, h___ heirs and assigns, all coal, petroleum, and natural gas, and all strata containing coal or petroleum, in or under all that parcel or lot of land situate in __________________ District, and numbered on the official plan or survey of the said __________________ District, to have and to hold the said coal, petroleum, and natural gas and strata containing coal or petroleum unto the said _______________________ h___ heirs and assigns, for ever.
In testimony whereof We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent and the Great Seal of Our Province of British Columbia to be hereunto affixed.
Witness His Honour _______________, Lieutenant-Governor of Our Province of British Columbia, at Our Government House, in Our City of Victoria, this ______ day of ____________, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and _________, and in the _____________ year of Our reign.
