1 In this Act
"instrument" means a will, trust instrument, commercial paper, contract, lease, licence, permit or other document;
"Royal Jubilee Hospital" means the body corporate under the Royal Jubilee Hospital Act, 1890;
"The Royal Columbian Hospital" means the body corporate under the Royal Columbian Hospital Act, 1901.

2 (1) The Royal Jubilee Hospital Act, 1890, S.B.C. 1890, c. 37, is repealed.
(2) The Royal Columbian Hospital Act, 1901, S.B.C. 1901, c. 47, is repealed.
1984-21-2.
3 On a date prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council,
(a) Royal Jubilee Hospital is dissolved,
(b) membership in Royal Jubilee Hospital is terminated,
(c) all of the rights, property and assets of Royal Jubilee Hospital are transferred to and vested in The Greater Victoria Hospital Society, and
(d) all of the obligations and liabilities of Royal Jubilee Hospital are transferred to and assumed by The Greater Victoria Hospital Society, become its obligations and liabilities and may be enforced against it as if it had incurred them.

4 On a date prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council,
(a) The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society is dissolved,
(b) membership in The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society is terminated,
(c) all of the rights, property and assets of The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society are transferred to and vested in The Greater Victoria Hospital Society, and
(d) all of the obligations and liabilities of The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society are transferred to and assumed by The Greater Victoria Hospital Society, become its obligations and liabilities and may be enforced against it as if it had incurred them.

5 On a date prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council,
(a) The Royal Columbian Hospital is dissolved,
(b) membership in The Royal Columbian Hospital is terminated,
(c) all of the rights, property and assets of The Royal Columbian Hospital are transferred to and vested in The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society, and
(d) all of the obligations and liabilities of The Royal Columbian Hospital are transferred to and assumed by The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society, become its obligations and liabilities and may be enforced against it as if it had incurred them.

6 On a date prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council,
(a) Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society is dissolved,
(b) membership in Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society is terminated,
(c) all of the rights, property and assets of Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society are transferred to and vested in The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society, and
(d) all of the obligations and liabilities of Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society are transferred to and assumed by The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society, become its obligations and liabilities and may be enforced against it as if it had incurred them.
1984-21-6.
7 On and after the applicable date prescribed under sections 3 to 6, for the purpose of giving effect to any instrument, a reference in the instrument
(a) to Royal Jubilee Hospital or to The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society, or to any of their facilities or services, shall be deemed to be a reference to The Greater Victoria Hospital Society, or to the facilities or services as operated or provided by that society, or
(b) to The Royal Columbian Hospital or to Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society, or to any of their facilities or services, shall be deemed to be a reference to The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society, or to the facilities or services as operated or provided by that society.

8 (1) No person is entitled to compensation or damages from the government or any person as a consequence of a loss of membership in Royal Jubilee Hospital, The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society, The Royal Columbian Hospital or Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society through their dissolution under this Act.
(2) Notwithstanding sections 3 and 4, The Greater Victoria Hospital Society shall not assume any obligation or liability in respect of membership rights of persons who are or have been members of Royal Jubilee Hospital or The Southern Vancouver Island Hospital Society.
(3) Notwithstanding sections 5 and 6, The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society shall not assume any obligation or liability in respect of membership rights of persons who are or have been members of The Royal Columbian Hospital or Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre Society.

9 No tax is payable under the Social Service Tax Act by The Greater Victoria Hospital Society or The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society in respect of a transfer and vesting effected by this Act.
1984-21-9.
10 For the purpose of recording in a land title office a transfer of property under section 3 (c), 4 (c), 5 (c) or 6 (c), an application by The Greater Victoria Hospital Society or The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society to register its interest in the property transferred shall be treated as if this Act effected an amalgamation for the purposes of section 187 of the Land Title Act.

12 This Act comes into force by regulation of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
