Application of this regulation

1   This regulation applies to the Minister of State for Local Governments and Rural Communities for the 2026/2027 fiscal year.

Definition

2   In this regulation, "Act" means the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act.

Minister of State for Local Governments and Rural Communities

3   The expected results that the Minister of State for Local Governments and Rural Communities is to achieve for the purposes of section 5 (3) of the Act are as follows:

(a) continue to work closely with the Union of British Columbia Municipalities as it prepares for executive committee engagements, quarterly meetings, advocacy days and its annual convention;

(b) continue to hold meetings with representatives of rural and remote communities, regional districts, municipalities and First Nations, in order to understand their opportunities, needs and challenges;

(c) submit a report to Cabinet on the results referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) on or before March 31, 2027.
