Provincial Symbols and Honours Act

British Columbia Medal of Good Citizenship Regulation

Definition

1   In this regulation, "Act" means the Provincial Symbols and Honours Act.

Prescribed letters

2   For the purposes of section 19.6 (1) of the Act, the prescribed letters are "M.G.C.".

Form of medal

3   For the purposes of section 19.6 (2) (a) of the Act, the prescribed form of the medal is as follows:

(a) the shape of the medal is circular;

(b) the colour of the medal is silver;

(c) the size of the medal is 36 mm in diameter;

(d) the obverse of the medal bears the following:

(i) along the rim, the inscription "Good Citizenship British Columbia";

(ii) in the centre, the Shield of Arms of British Columbia;

(e) the reverse of the medal bears the following:

(i) along the rim, the inscription "Generosity, Service, Selflessness";

(ii) in the centre, a stylized flowering dogwood.

Additional insignia of Medal

4   For the purposes of section 19.6 (2) (b) of the Act, the additional insignia of the Medal are the following:

(a) a ribbon that

(i) is worn with the medal referred to in section 3,

(ii) is 32 mm wide, and

(iii) has 7 vertical stripes that are coloured, in order from left to right, blue, red, yellow, white, yellow, red and blue;

(b) a miniature replica of the medal referred to in section 3;

(c) a lapel pin that is

(i) in the form of the Shield of Arms of British Columbia, and

(ii) silver in colour.
