Application of this regulation

1   This regulation applies to the Minister of State for Sustainable Forestry Innovation for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.

Definition

2   In this regulation, "Act" means the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act.

Minister of State for Sustainable Forestry Innovation

3   The expected results that the Minister of State for Sustainable Forestry Innovation is to achieve for the purposes of section 5 (3) of the Act are as follows:

(a) strengthen and improve the "Residual Fibre Utilization Policy", drawing on the support of the Minister of Forests;

(b) work with the Minister of Forests and the Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation to expedite work that is currently underway with First Nations, the purpose of which is to reach constructive arrangements and government-to-government agreements respecting certainty of access to fibre;

(c) work with the Minister of Forests to accelerate the implementation of forest landscape planning;

(d) submit to Cabinet a report on the results referred to in paragraphs (a) through (c) on or before March 31, 2025.
