Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness Expected Results for the 2015/2016 Fiscal Year Regulation
Application of this regulation
1 This regulation applies to the Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness for the 2015/2016 fiscal year.
Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness
3 The expected results that the Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness is to achieve for the purposes of section 5 (3) of the Act are as follows:
(a) work to promote emergency preparedness in British Columbia;
(b) work with Emergency Management BC to support the implementation of initiatives that contribute to the delivery of Emergency Management BC's mandate;
(c) work with Emergency Management BC to develop Exercise Coastal Response, a full-scale major earthquake and tsunami response exercise designed to be implemented in the Port Alberni region in June, 2016;
(d) as part of the government response to the Renteria report on earthquake preparedness, provide information to the public regarding the neighbourhood emergency preparedness campaign;
(e) support the review of the Emergency Program Act to ensure the legislation will be up to date and effective in managing the impacts of emergencies in British Columbia by preparing recommendations for amendments to the legislation for consideration by Cabinet by March 31, 2016;
(f) submit to Cabinet a report on the results referred to in paragraphs (a) to (e) on or before March 31, 2016.
