Utilities Commission Act

British Columbia Hydro and
Power Authority Exemption Regulation

Definition

1   In this regulation, "Act" means the Utilities Commission Act.

Exemption

2   (1) The authority is exempt from section 45 (5) of the Act in respect of the following extensions of the authority's system:

(a) upgrades at the Barnard substation in the City of Coquitlam;

(b) a new substation in the Strathcona neighbourhood of the City of Vancouver;

(c) a new substation at the location of the Lougheed substation in the City of Burnaby;

(d) upgrades at the Newell substation in the City of Burnaby;

(e) a new substation at or adjacent to the location of the Scott Road substation in the City of Surrey;

(f) upgrades to the Steveston substation in the City of Richmond.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to an extension that, on the date the authority decides to construct the extension, cannot reasonably be expected to come into service by March 31, 2034.
