Definition

1   In this regulation, "Act" means the Teachers Act.

Certification fee

2   (1) The following are the prescribed fees for the purposes of section 30 (1) (b) [issuance of certificate] of the Act that must accompany an applicant's application for a certificate of qualification or an independent school teaching certificate:

(a) $245 for an applicant who has a degree in education from a post-secondary institution established in Canada;

(b) $245 for an applicant who has a degree in education from a post-secondary institution established outside Canada;

(c) $245 for an applicant who applies for a certificate of qualification or an independent school teaching certificate for which a degree in education from a post-secondary institution is not required by the certification standards or the independent school teaching certification standards.

(2) The following are the prescribed fees for the purposes of section 30 (1) (b) of the Act that an applicant must pay when the director of certification issues a certificate of qualification or an independent school teaching certificate:

(a) $40 if the certificate of qualification or independent school teaching certificate is issued on or after December 1 and on or before May 31;

(b) $80 if the certificate of qualification or independent school teaching certificate is issued on or after June 1 and on or before November 30.

Reconsideration fee

3   The prescribed reconsideration fee for the purposes of section 32 (3) (b) [reconsideration and appeal] of the Act is $140.

Certification appeal fee

4   The certification appeal fee for the purposes of Division 5 [Certification Appeals] of Part 6 [Disciplinary and Professional Conduct Inquiries and Certification Appeals] of the Act is $300.

Letter of permission fee

5   The prescribed letter of permission fee for the purposes of section 35 (1) (a) [issuance of letter of permission] of the Act is $200.

Annual practice fee

6   The following are the prescribed fees for the purposes of section 37 [annual practice fee] of the Act:

(a) the annual practice fee is $95;

(b) the late fee under section 37 (2) of the Act is $30;

(c) the additional late fee under section 37 (3) (b) of the Act is $30.

Teacher education programs

7   The fee for determining if a teacher education program meets the teacher education program approval standards is $12 000.
