Nurses (Registered Psychiatric) Regulation

Definitions

1   In this regulation:

"Act" means the Health Professions Act;

"psychiatric nursing" means practice as a registrant of the college.

College name

2   The name "College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia" is the name of the college established under section 15 (1) of the Act for psychiatric nursing.

Reserved titles

3   (1) The titles "registered psychiatric nurse" and "licensed graduate psychiatric nurse" are reserved for exclusive use by registrants.

(2) This section does not prevent a person from using the title "nurse" in a manner authorized by another regulation under section 12 of the Act.

Scope of practice

4   A registrant may practise psychiatric nursing.

Patient relations program

5   The college is designated for the purposes of section 16 (2) (f) of the Act.
