Expected Results for the 2022/2023
Fiscal Year Regulation

Application of this regulation

1   This regulation applies to the Minister of State for Child Care for the 2022/2023 fiscal year.

Definition

2   In this regulation, "Act" means the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act.

Minister of State for Child Care

3   The expected results that the Minister of State for Child Care is to achieve for the purposes of section 5 (3) of the Act are as follows:

(a) continue to implement initiatives that support government's universal child care plan that provides affordable, accessible, inclusive and high-quality care and early learning for every child whose family wants or needs it;

(b) engage with the following to further inform implementation of universal and inclusive child care:

(i) all levels of government;

(ii) Indigenous governing bodies and other entities representing Indigenous peoples;

(iii) school boards, child care providers and other sector stakeholders;

(c) continue to support the transfer of responsibility for child care delivery to the Ministry of Education with the goal of completing the transfer by 2023;

(d) continue to monitor the implementation of the Multilateral Early Learning and Child Care Framework agreement with the federal government;

(e) submit to Cabinet a report on the results referred to in paragraphs (a) through (d) on or before March 31, 2023.
