Section 2 (d) BEFORE amended by BC Reg 111/2023, effective June 1, 2023.

(d) pharmacists, but only for the purpose of prescribing the following drugs for emergency contraception:

(i) ethinyl estradiol;

(ii) norgestrel;

(iii) progestin;

Health care professions prescribed as practitioners

2 The following classes of persons are prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (b) (i) of the definition of "practitioner" in section 1 of the Act:

(a) midwives;

(b) nurses practising nursing as nurse practitioners, registered nurses or registered psychiatric nurses;

(d) pharmacists;

(e) naturopathic physicians.

Persons who may both prescribe drugs and own pharmacies

3 For the purposes of section 5 (1) of the Act, a pharmacist who is authorized to prescribe a drug listed in section 2 (d) of this regulation for the purpose of emergency contraception may be a direct owner or an indirect owner.
