South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police Service Regulation

Interpretation

1   In this regulation:

"SCBCTAPS-DLEU" means the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police Service Designated Law Enforcement Unit;

"SCBCTAPS-DPU" means the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police Service Designated Policing Unit;

"transportation service region" has the same meaning as in the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act.

Part 1 — Designated Policing Unit

Powers, duties and functions of the board

2   The powers, duties and functions of the board of the SCBCTAPS-DPU are those set out in section 4.2 (2) (c) of the Police Act.

Geographical area

3   The geographical area within which the SCBCTAPS-DPU and its designated constables must operate is the transportation service region.

Part 2 — Designated Law Enforcement Unit

Enactments to be enforced

4   The following enactments are to be enforced by the SCBCTAPS-DLEU:

(a) the Greater Vancouver Transit Conduct and Safety Regulation, B.C. Reg. 87/99;

(b) the Fare Collection Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/2012.

5   The powers, duties and functions of the board of the SCBCTAPS-DLEU are those set out in section 18.2 (1) (d) of the Police Act.

Transition — former designated policing unit

3.1   (1) This regulation as it read immediately before its amendment on November 25, 2022 applies in relation to the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police Service established by Ministerial Order 30/2013.

(2) This section is repealed on December 31, 2022.
