Gaming Services Registration Fee (COVID-19
Emergency) Remission Regulation

Definitions

1   In this regulation:

"anniversary date",

(a) in relation to a person described in section 2 (1) (a), means an anniversary date of the person's registration in any of the classes of registration referred to in section 31 (2) (a) to (e) of the Regulation, and

(b) in relation to a person described in section 2 (1) (b), means an anniversary date of the person's registration in a class of registration referred to in section 31 (4) (a) or (b) of the Regulation;

"branch" has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Gaming Control Act;

"Regulation" means the Gaming Control Regulation, B.C. Reg. 208/2002.

Remission of fees

2   (1) Subject to subsection (2), authorization is given for the remission of the following fees:

(a) a registration fee paid or payable to the branch under section 31 (3) of the Regulation by a person who is registered under section 65 of the Gaming Control Act as a gaming services provider in any of the classes of registration referred to in section 31 (2) (a) to (e) of the Regulation;

(b) a registration fee paid or payable to the branch under section 31 (5) of the Regulation by a person who

(i) is registered under section 67 of the Gaming Control Act as a gaming worker in a class of registration referred to in section 31 (4) (a) or (b) of the Regulation, and

(ii) is a director, or an officer or other employee, of a person described in paragraph (a).

(2) Subsection (1) applies in respect of a registration fee that, if section 31.01 of the Regulation did not apply, would have been required to be paid by a person described in subsection (1) (a) or (b) on an anniversary date of the person occurring after March 30, 2020 and before March 31, 2021.
