Definition

1   In this regulation, "Act" means the Teachers Act.

Appointment to fill vacancy on British Columbia Teachers' Council

2   For the purposes of section 11 (10) of the Act,

(a) before appointing a person to fill a vacancy, the minister must consult with the First Nations Education Authority, and

(b) a person must meet both of the following eligibility requirements to be appointed:

(i) the person must possess substantial knowledge of and experience in the First Nations education system in British Columbia;

(ii) the person must provide to the minister the person's written consent to be appointed.
