(c) without limiting the generality of paragraphs (a) and (b), may employ a person to or for whom income assistance is provided under the BC Benefits (Income Assistance) Act, a youth allowance is provided under the BC Benefits (Youth Works) Act or a disability allowance is provided under the Disability Benefits Program Act.

 Powers of inquiry

6  The director, or other person authorized in writing by the director for the purpose, may make inquiries with regard to the assets and liabilities of a debtor who applies for assistance under this Act or in respect of whom a referral has been made by a court, and for that purpose the director

(a) may examine under oath

(i)  the debtor, the debtor's employees and agents, the debtor's creditors, and

(ii)  any person who the director considers has any knowledge of the affairs of the debtor, and

(b) has all the power and authority of a commissioner under sections 12, 15 and 16 of the Inquiry Act.

  Section 6.1 was enacted by 2007-9-70, effective June 21, 2007 (BC Reg 226/2007).

  Section 7 (3) BEFORE amendment by 2002-12-5, effective April 11, 2002 (Royal Assent).

(3)  The director, and any other person appointed or employed under section 2, if required to do so by the minister, must give security under the Public Service Bonding Act for the proper accounting for any payment of money that comes into the director's or the person's possession or control because of the director's or the person's office or employment.
