  Section 2 (2) BEFORE amended by 2023-10-282, effective March 30, 2023 (Royal Assent).

(2) Each member must be reimbursed for reasonable travelling and other out of pocket expenses necessarily incurred by the member in discharging his or her duties, and, in addition, may be paid and may accept remuneration for the member's services as the Lieutenant Governor in Council determines.

  Section 5 (c) BEFORE amended by 2017-10-15, effective November 2, 2017 (Royal Assent).

(c) to provide inpatient and outpatient treatment for persons referred to in paragraph (b) and other persons the minister may designate;

 Staff

7  (1)  Subject to the Public Service Act, the commission may appoint officers and employees the commission considers necessary for this Act, and may determine their duties.

(2)  The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint an executive director of the commission, to be appointed during pleasure, and may fix his or her remuneration and may declare that some or all of the Public Service Act applies to the executive director.

(3)  Despite the Public Service Act but with the approval of the minister, the commission may engage and retain persons it considers necessary as consultants, experts or specialists, and may fix their remuneration.

(2) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint an executive director of the commission, to be appointed during pleasure, and may fix his or her remuneration.

 Company Act not to apply

8  The Company Act does not apply to the commission, but the Lieutenant Governor in Council may prescribe that the Company Act or part of it applies to the commission.
