Council continued
1 (1) The Seniors Advisory Council is continued.
(2) The council, to be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, consists of a chair, who must be designated by the minister, and not less than 14 other members.
(3) The minister may set the terms and conditions of appointments made under this section.
(4) The members of the council must be paid
(a) remuneration set by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, and
(b) in accordance with general directives of the Treasury Board, reasonable and necessary travelling and out of pocket expenses incurred in carrying out their functions under this Act.
Mandate of council
2 The council may do one or more of the following:
(a) advise the minister on current and future issues of concern to seniors of British Columbia;
(b) represent interests of seniors throughout British Columbia;
(c) maintain close communication links with major seniors' organizations and organizations involved in providing services to seniors.
