B.C. Reg. 231/2004, deposited May 21, 2004, pursuant to the PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS AND SECURITY ACT [Sections 31 (1) and (2)]. Order in Council 520/2004, approved and ordered May 20, 2004.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective July 1, 2004,

(a) section 1 (b) (i) of the Temporary Licence Regulation, B.C. Reg. 294/94, is amended by striking out "$15" and substituting "$35", and

(b) the Private Investigators and Security Agencies Act Regulation, B.C. Reg. 3/81, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix.

Appendix

1 Section 6.1 of the Private Investigators and Security Agencies Act Regulation, B.C. Reg. 3/81, is amended

(a) in item 1, column 1, of the table in subsection (1) by repealing paragraphs (a) and (b),

(b) in item 1, column 2, of the table in subsection (1) by striking out "$275",

(c) in item 3, column 1, of the table in subsection (1) by repealing paragraphs (a) and (b),

(d) in item 3, column 2, of the table in subsection (1) by striking out "$500" and "$275" and substituting "$325",

(e) in subsection (2) by striking out "Subject to subsections (3) and (4), a" and substituting "A", and

(f) by repealing subsections (3) and (4).

2 Section 6.2 is amended

(a) in item 1, column 1, of the table in subsection (1) by repealing paragraphs (a) to (c),

(b) in item 1, column 2, of the table in subsection (1) by striking out "$100" and substituting "$120", and by striking out both "$40" and "$30",

(c) in item 2, column 1, of the table in subsection (1) by repealing paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting the following:

(a) for a security employee licensed in the category of security patrol, private investigator or both

(b) for a security employee licensed in one or both of the categories referred to in paragraph (a) and one or more of the categories referred to in paragraph (c) (i) to (iii)

(c) for a security employee licensed in neither of the categories referred to in paragraph (a) but in one or more of the following categories:

(i) alarm service

(ii) locksmith

(iii) security consultant

(d) in item 2, column 2, of the table in subsection (1), by striking out "$40" and "$30" and substituting "$60", "$60" and "$50",

(e) in item 3, column 2, of the table in subsection (1) by striking out ", for each category of security employee licensed by the licence",

(f) in item 3, column 2, of the table in subsection (1) by striking out "$50" and substituting "$70",

(g) by repealing subsection (2),

(h) in subsection (3), by striking out "Subject to subsection (4), a" and substituting "A", and

(i) by repealing subsection (4).
