B.C. Reg. 434/2004, deposited October 1, 2004, pursuant to the JURY ACT [Section 34] and the MISCELLANEOUS STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2004 [Section 45]. Order in Council 931/2004, approved and ordered September 30, 2004.
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Administrator, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective January 1, 2005,
(a) sections 22 and 23 of the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2004, S.B.C. 2004, c. 23, are brought into force by this regulation, and
(b) the Jury Regulation, B.C. Reg. 282/95, is amended by adding the following section:
4 In addition to the persons referred to in section 3 (1) of the Act, the following are disqualified from serving as a juror:
(a) an employee of the Department of Justice or of the Solicitor General of Canada;
(b) an employee of the Ministry of Attorney General and Ministry Responsible for Treaty Negotiations of British Columbia;
(c) an employee of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General of British Columbia, with the exception of employees of that Ministry who work in the Liquor Distribution Branch.
