B.C. Reg. 519/2004, deposited December 3, 2004, pursuant to the BUSINESS PRACTICES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT [Section 194]. Order in Council 1193/2004, approved and ordered December 2, 2004.
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Regulation, B.C. Reg. 294/2004, is amended by adding the following Part:
Part 3 — Exemptions
12 (1) In this section, "collection agent" has the same meaning as in section 125 of the Act.
(2) A collection agent who, while collecting or attempting to collect a debt for a creditor, reports credit information of the debtor to the creditor is exempt in respect of that report from the application of Part 6 [Credit Reporting] of the Act and any regulations relating to that Part.
