B.C. Reg. 526/2004, deposited December 3, 2004, pursuant to the HOTEL ROOM TAX ACT [Section 43 (2) (e) and (f)]. Order in Council 1169/2004, approved and ordered December 2, 2004.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective January 1, 2005, the following regulation is made:

ADDITIONAL TAX REGULATION
(CITY OF CHILLIWACK)

Applicability

1 Section 3 (1) of the Hotel Room Tax Act applies in respect of accommodation purchased within the City of Chilliwack on or before January 1, 2010.

Additional tax payable

2 The additional tax payable under that section is 2% of the purchase price of the accommodation.

Purpose for tax expenditure

3 The purposes for which the amount paid to the municipality out of the revenue collected from the tax may be expended are tourism promotion, programs and projects.
