B.C. Reg. 550/2004, deposited December 3, 2004, pursuant to the PENSION BENEFITS STANDARDS ACT [Section 74 (2) (c.3) and (4.1)] and the FINANCE STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2004 [Section 45]. Order in Council 1172/2004, approved and ordered December 2, 2004.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective December 1, 2004,

(a) sections 40 and 41 of the Finance Statutes Amendment Act, 2004 are brought into force, and

(b) the Pension Benefits Standards Regulation, B.C. Reg.  433/93, is amended in section 4 by adding the following subsection:

(5) The audited financial statements referred to in section 9 (7) of the Act must be prepared in accordance with the accounting standards contained in the Handbook of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, as amended from time to time, except that those audited financial statements need not include information respecting pension benefit obligations.
