B.C. Reg. 574/2004, deposited December 13, 2004, pursuant to the FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS ACT [Section 289] and the INSURANCE ACT [Section 1]. Order in Council 1236/2004, approved and ordered December 11, 2004.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective December 31, 2004,

(a) the following regulation is made:

PRESCRIBED CLASSES OF INSURANCE FOR
INSURANCE LICENCES REGULATION

Definition

1 In this regulation, "Act" means the Financial Institutions Act.

Prescribed classes of insurance for which insurance
licence may be issued by the Insurance Council

2 For the purpose of section 174 (2) (b) of the Act, the prescribed classes of insurance are the following:

(a) general insurance;

(b) life insurance;

(c) accident and sickness insurance as defined in section 2 of the Insurance Classes Regulation;

(d) travel insurance as defined in the Insurance Licensing Exemption Regulation. , and

(b) section 2 of the Insurance Classes Regulation, B.C. Reg. 337/90, is amended by adding, "except for section 174 of the Financial Institutions Act," after "and of the Financial Institutions Act".
