B.C. Reg. 179/2024, deposited July 5, 2024, under the MISCELLANEOUS STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2), 2021 [section 40], MISCELLANEOUS STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2022 [section 23], MISCELLANEOUS STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2024 [section 81] and OFFENCE ACT [section 132 (2)]. Order in Council 402/2024, approved and ordered July 5, 2024.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective July 5, 2024,

(a) sections 4 to 8, 10, 11, 13 to 16 and 22 of the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2021, S.B.C. 2021, c. 27 are brought into force,

(b) sections 7 and 16 of the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2022, S.B.C. 2022, c. 14 are brought into force,

(c) section 11 of the Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, S.B.C. 2024, c. 10 is brought into force, and

(d) the Treaty First Nation Definition Regulation as set out in the attached Schedule is made.

TREATY FIRST NATION DEFINITION REGULATION

Definitions

1 In this regulation:

"Act" means the Offence Act;

"Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ" means the Ucluelet First Nation as defined in section 29.1.1 of the Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement.

Treaty first nation

2 The following are prescribed for the purposes of the definition of "treaty first nation" in section 1 of the Act:

(a) Tsawwassen First Nation;

(b) Huu-ay-aht First Nations;

(c) Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’ /Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations;

(d) Toquaht Nation;

(e) Uchucklesaht Tribe;

(f) Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ;

(g) Tla’amin Nation.
