Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System

1 The Regional District of East Kootenay is granted the additional power to operate an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System as an extended service.

Emergency Programs

2 The Regional District of East Kootenay is granted the additional power to provide Emergency Programs as an extended service under the Emergency Program Act.

Maintenance of flood and debris torrent control

3 The Regional District of East Kootenay is granted the additional power to provide maintenance of flood and debris torrent control, including without limitation the powers of a district municipality under sections 552 and 553 of the Municipal Act1, as a local service.

Environmental/Sewer/Water Economic Impact Studies

4 The Regional District of East Kootenay is granted the additional power to provide Environmental/Sewer/Water Economic Impact Studies as an extended service.

Municipal council powers

5 The Regional District of East Kootenay is granted the additional power to exercise the powers conferred on the council of a municipality under sections 703 (1) (d) and 704 (d) of the Local Government Act as an extended service.
