PEACE RIVER REGIONAL DISTRICT REGULATION

Watercourse dyking

1 The Peace River Regional District is granted the additional power of watercourse dyking as a local service.

Erosion and flooding management

2 The Peace River Regional District is granted the additional power to manage erosion and flooding, including, without limitation, the powers of a district municipality under sections 552 and 553 of the Municipal Act1, as an extended service.

Finbow Airstrip

3 The Peace River Regional District is granted the additional power to acquire, upgrade, operate and maintain the Finbow airstrip, as an extended service.

Cemeteries

4 The Peace River Regional District is granted the additional powers of section 716 of the Local Government Act to develop, operate and maintain cemeteries, as an extended service, and also the power to contribute financial aid toward the cost of developing, operating and maintaining cemeteries, as an extended service.

Powers under section 727 of the Act

5 The Peace River Regional District is granted the additional power to exercise the powers conferred on the council of a municipality under section 727 of the Local Government Act as an extended service.
