Financial Institutions Act

PRESCRIBED CLASSES OF INSURANCE FOR
INSURANCE LICENCES REGULATION

Definition

1 In this regulation, "Act" means the Financial Institutions Act.

Prescribed classes of insurance for which insurance
licence may be issued by the Insurance Council

2 For the purpose of section 174 (2) (b) of the Act, the prescribed classes of insurance are the following:

(a) general insurance;

(b) life insurance;

(c) accident and sickness insurance as defined in section 2 of the Insurance Classes Regulation;

(d) travel insurance as defined in the Insurance Licensing Exemption Regulation.
