2.2.1. Administration

2.2.1.1. Administrative Requirements

1) This By-law is made pursuant to Section 306 of the Vancouver Charter.

1) This By-lawCode is made pursuant to Section 306692 of the Vancouver CharterLocal Government Act.

1) This By-law is made pursuant to Section 306 of the Vancouver Charter.This Code shall be administered in conformance with the appropriate provincial or territorial regulations, municipal bylaws or, in the absence of such regulations or bylaws, in conformance with the applicable requirements in the Administrative Requirements for Use with the National Building Code of Canada 1985.

2.2.1.2. Personnel Performing Plumbing Work

1) Personnel performing installation, alteration or repair on a plumbing system shall

a) possess a Canadian qualification certification as a plumber,

b) be an indentured apprentice supervised by a journeyman possessing a Canadian qualification certification as a plumber, or

c) be the registered owner and occupant or intended occupant of the single family dwelling in which plumbing work will occur, provided evidence can be provided the owner can satisfactorily complete the proposed work.

1) Personnel performing installation, alteration or repair on a plumbing system shall

a) possess a Canadiantradesman's qualification certification as a plumber,

b) be an indentured apprenticeapprentice supervised by a journeyman possessing a Canadiantradesman's qualification certification as a plumber, or

c) be the registered ownerowner and occupant or intended occupant of the single family dwelling in which plumbing work will occur, provided evidence can be provided the ownerowner can satisfactorily complete the proposed work.

2.2.1.3. Personnel Performing Sprinkler System Work

1) Persons performing installation, alteration or repair on a sprinkler system shall

a) possess a British Columbia industry training credential as a sprinkler system installer, or

b) be a trainee supervised by a Sprinkler System Installer qualified under the Industry Training Authority Act.

2.2.2. Plumbing Drawings and Related Documents

2.2.2.1. Information Required on Plumbing Drawings and Related Documents

1) If the Chief Building Official legally requires an application for a permit in respect of plumbing systems, plumbing drawings and related documents submitted with the application for a plumbing permit shall show

a) the location and size of every building drain and of every trap and cleanout fitting that is on a building drain,

b) the size and location of every soil-or-waste pipe, trap and vent pipe, and

c) a layout of the potable water distribution system, including pipe sizes and valves.

2.2.3. Professional Design and Review

2.2.3.1. Application

1) As applicable, the requirements of Subsection 2.2.7. in Division C of Book I (General) of this By-law apply to work covered in this By-law. (See Article 1.1.1.1. of Division A.)
