I, Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, order that

(a) effective June 28, 2024, the Dietitians Regulation, B.C. Reg. 279/2008, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 1,

(b) effective June 28, 2024, the Occupational Therapists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 286/2008, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 2,

(c) effective June 28, 2024, the Opticians Regulation, B.C. Reg. 118/2010, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 3,

(d) effective June 28, 2024, the Optometrists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 33/2009, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 4,

(e) effective June 28, 2024, the Physical Therapists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 288/2008, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 5,

(f) effective June 28, 2024, the Psychologists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 289/2008, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 6,

(g) effective June 28, 2024, the Speech and Hearing Health Professionals Regulation, B.C. Reg. 413/2008, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule 7, and

(h) with respect to the amendments referred to in paragraphs (a) to (g) of this order, the notice period for the purposes of section 12 (3) and (4) of the Health Professions Act is 40 days.

Schedule 1

1 Section 2 of the Dietitians Regulation, B.C. Reg. 279/2008, is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of dietetics is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

2 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 2

1 Section 2 of the Occupational Therapists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 286/2008, is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of occupational therapy is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

2 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 3

1 Section 1 of the Opticians Regulation, B.C. Reg. 118/2010, is amended by adding the following definition:

"registrant" means a registrant who is authorized under the bylaws to practise opticianry; .

2 Section 2 is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of opticianry is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

3 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 4

1 Section 1 of the Optometrists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 33/2009, is amended by adding the following definition:

"registrant" means a registrant who is authorized under the bylaws to practise optometry; .

2 Section 2 is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of optometry is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

3 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 5

1 Section 2 of the Physical Therapists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 288/2008, is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of physical therapy is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

2 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 6

1 Section 1 of the Psychologists Regulation, B.C. Reg. 289/2008, is amended by adding the following definition:

"registrant" means a registrant who is authorized under the bylaws to practise psychology.

2 Section 2 is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of psychology is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

3 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.

Schedule 7

1 Section 2 of the Speech and Hearing Health Professionals Regulation, B.C. Reg. 413/2008, is repealed and the following substituted:

College name

2 The name of the college responsible for carrying out the objects of the Act in respect of audiology, hearing instrument dispensing and speech-language pathology is "College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia".

2 The following section is added:

Restricted and provisional registrant classes

4.1 The college is authorized to establish, under section 19 (1) (i) of the Act, a class of

(a) restricted registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.2) of the Act, and

(b) provisional registrants for the purposes of section 20 (4.3) of the Act.
