On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective August 30, 2024, the Laboratory Services Regulation, B.C. Reg. 52/2015, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

1 Section 3 of the Laboratory Services Regulation, B.C. Reg. 52/2015, is amended by adding the following subsection:

(2.1) A health care practitioner is prescribed as a referring practitioner for the purposes of the Act if the health care practitioner is a registrant of the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia who

(a) is authorized to use the title "pharmacist", and

(b) makes a request for a beneficiary to receive benefits in relation to the services described in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the definition of "practice of pharmacy" in section 1 of the Pharmacists Regulation.
