B.C. Reg. 258/2024, deposited August 29, 2024, under the MOTOR VEHICLE ACT [section 269]. Regulation of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, dated August 26, 2024.

I, Amy Miller, Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, order that, effective September 1, 2024, the Lien on Impounded Motor Vehicles Regulation, B.C. Reg. 25/2015, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

1 Section 3 of the Lien on Impounded Motor Vehicles Regulation, B.C. Reg. 25/2015, is amended

(a) by repealing paragraph (a) and substituting the following:

(a) for storage of a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight within a range described in column 2, 3 or 4 of the Table, the cost set out in that column opposite the applicable impound lot Zone described in column 1; , and

(b) by adding the following Table:

2 Section 4 is amended

(a) in subsection (1) (b) by striking out "28%" and substituting "25%",

(b) in subsection (1) (c) by striking out "$35" and substituting "$40",

(2) The basic transportation and towing cost for a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight within a range described in column 1, 2, 3 or 4 of Table 1 is the sum of the following:

(a) if the impound lot is located 15 km or more from the location of the vehicle to be transported or towed, $1.66 per km travelled between the impound lot and the vehicle before the vehicle is picked up;

(b) the cost determined in accordance with column 1, 2, 3 or 4, as applicable.

(3) In determining the travel distance for the purposes of subsection (2) and Table 1, the distance is to be measured to the nearest 0.1 km. ,

(d) in subsection (6) in paragraph (d) of the definition of "loading and securing service" by striking out "missing one more tires" and substituting "missing one or more tires",

(e) by repealing Table 1 and substituting the following:

(i) in Column 4 of Table 2 by striking out "$133.56 per hour" wherever it appears and substituting "$184.21 per hour", and

(j) in Column 5 of Table 2 by striking out "$177.64 per hour" wherever it appears and substituting "$245.01 per hour".
