On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Cleaner Gasoline Regulation, B.C. Reg. 498/95, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

1 Section 1 of the Cleaner Gasoline Regulation, B.C. Reg. 498/95, is amended

(a) by repealing paragraph (a) of the definition of "additive compliance record" and substituting the following:

(a) the certification and records of volumes required by section 6.23.1 of the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.5‑2021 Automotive gasoline in order to show that deposit control additive has been added to the gasoline to meet the requirements of section 6.23 of that Standard, or , and

(b) in the definition of "deposit control additive" by striking out "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB–3.5–2004 Unleaded Automotive Gasoline" and substituting "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.5‑2021 Automotive gasoline".

2 Section 4 is amended

(a) by repealing subsection (1) (c) and substituting the following:

(c) meets the requirements of Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.511‑2021 Oxygenated automotive gasoline containing ethanol (E1‑E10 and E11‑E15). , and

(b) in subsection (2) by striking out "the sum of the maximum vapour pressure referred to in section 7.13 of the CAN/CGSB 3.511‑2005 Oxygenated Unleaded Automotive Gasoline Containing Ethanol plus 7 kiloPascals" and substituting "the sum of 7 kiloPascals plus the maximum vapour pressure referred to in Table 3A of the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.511‑2021 Oxygenated automotive gasoline containing ethanol (E1‑E10 and E11‑E15)".

3 Section 9 (1) is amended

(a) in paragraph (a) by striking out "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB–3.5–2004 Unleaded Automotive Gasoline" and substituting "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.5‑2021 Automotive gasoline",

(b) in paragraph (b) by striking out "10%" and substituting "15%" and by striking out "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB–3.511–2005 Oxygenated Unleaded Automotive Gasoline Containing Ethanol" and substituting "Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.511‑2021 Oxygenated automotive gasoline containing ethanol (E1‑E10 and E11‑E15)", and

(c) by repealing paragraph (c) and substituting the following:

(c) if the gasoline contains an amount of ethanol that is 20 to 25% or 50 to 85% by volume of the amount of gasoline, the analytical methods referred to in the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.512‑2023 Automotive ethanol fuel (E50‑E85 and E20‑E25) must be used in addition to the analytical methods set out in paragraph (a).

4 Section 1 of Schedule 1 is repealed and the following substituted:

1  For the purposes of the definition of "gasoline standard" and for the purposes of section 3 (1), the gasoline standards are as follows:

(a) the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.5‑2021 Automotive gasoline;

(b) the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.511‑2021 Oxygenated automotive gasoline containing ethanol (E1‑E10 and E11‑E15);

(c) the Canadian General Standards Board Standard CAN/CGSB‑3.512‑2023 Automotive ethanol fuel (E50‑E85 and E20‑E25).
